Do any of you use an electric tankless water heater?
I am considering to purchase and install an electric tank less(water on demand) water heater, and I would like to know real life opinions of how well they work, and if they will save money on electric bill. I also definitely would like to know about any problems you may have had with them.
I had one installed in my Florida condo about 10 years ago and never had a problem. At the time I was president of the assoc. and had a larger one for the 3 washers and it is still doing the job. The thing is that the ones made today use micro processors and the people in my building say that they don't get enough hot water when the sink and shower is on at the same time. I and the 5 others that have the same type unit have no problem. I can turn on the hot water and come back the week later and I can't put my hand under the faucet. The one I have is called "Tankless-Insta hot"

i am a master electrician, i have never installed one because they require more power than some homes can provide.
Last time someone ask me for one was about 4 years ago, so they may have become more efficient sense then but at the time the smallest one my supply house could find was 125 amps.
BUT like i said my info is 4 years old, I live in New England and here people just install gas or oil water heaters when the want on demand
EDIT****
i found a link with amperage of some of this

I think there is a lot of bad info there but you can call them…… Get an electrician involved before you buy to make sure your house can handle the water heater

If you have water with minerals in it, do not get a tankless heater. The small tubing in them will clog quickly. Make sure you buy one that has parts available if needed. Also, many Plumbers/electricians will install them but but not do service work since they are "state of the art" systems.

I purchased a unit by SIEMENS in Turkey. It is 220V 3 Phase. It works beautifully. Electric consumption went down 30%. I highly recommend it. Check from internet to see available in the US or Canada.
